  1. Do not trust Microsoft's cloud service. They can lock you out without notice. I used SkyDrive to store some junk I didn't want on my PC. Some of it was music, ebooks, and a lot of porn pictures. One day I go to SkyDrive and I'm told my account is locked. I sent them an email asking why and they told me I violated their TOS (because of the porn, I'm guessing), but it wasn't anything illegal.

I did some searches and found out this is terrifyingly common. I read of one poor bastard who linked his Microsoft account with everything: email, SkyDrive, Skype, Games for Windows Live, even Xbox Live. When he lost his account he was locked out of EVERYTHING. Luckily for me I just wanted to free up space by uploading some porn, so no big loss. This also alerted me to the fact we do not have privacy. Microsoft can and will search through your content. Don't say you haven't been warned.
