This past week the New York Department of Financial Services conducted very important hearings about Bitcoin and digital currencies in general to decide the future of regulation in their district.

But also this week Charlie Shrem, who was at the time Vice Chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, was arrested on charges of money laundering.

In this video Elizabeth and Juan, both members of the Bitcoin Foundation, share their views about these events and also talk about the balance between freedom and regulation.

  1. Both Bitcoin Foundation members are quick to throw Charlie Shrem under the regulatory bus before mentioning "innocent until proven guilty" or HSBC mega-laudering, and not even questioning why should being three hops away from silk road be a crime in the first place. Boy are they scared they'll be next.

  2. CAPITALISM cannot alleviate poverty. What a horrific thing to say. Miss Ploshay sounds like an American diploma mill student who has no idea what she is talking about. Probably a cheerleader in high school? Yeah, most likely. Bitcoin is another capitalist scam to keep the bankers afloat and other profiteering creeps within the ideology of CURRENCY as a medium of exchange. Capitalism is so evil..it attracts the best minds and turns them into greedy little money changers…money for the sake of money. How pathetic. And we have to thank the computer programming community for this new money scam. Again, how disgusting and pathetic.

  3. The Bitcoin Foundation can get f*cked. There is no excuse for having someone tied to "drug money" in the foundation. How many other "crims" in TBF?.
Bitocin is NOT HSBC, bitcoin has a target on it's forehead and needs clean people, not "dirty" Shrems. Bitcoin people will be hung, drawn and quartered because there is a need for bad PR. Bitcoin is a target…..sorry about reality. Throw away Shrem's cell key.
