Get LIVE content & information and then have it read out to you. I use it as an alarm clock, but it seems more and more are using it on demand.

It’s been a long time goal to build an alarm clock that would a) wake me up to the news, b) from news sources that are relevant and selected by me.

  1. I have long been considering acquiring a raspberry pi and with the new b + and growing community I no longer feel I have a reason to delay.
I will order one and pay close attention to videos like this.
    Thanks for your help.

  2. I'm going to order a raspberry pi after seeing this!

I'm thinking of making being able to set alarms from my phone (using ssh?)
I don't have any prior experience with phyton before but I'll certainly share my work once it's done.

  3. Awesome project. Even though you have to work around the 100 character limit, the Google TTS sounds much more natural than Festival.

Is there a way to speed up the rate of speech? I think it'll sound even better to increase it to 1.25x.
